Bird reserve

Between mountain and sea, on the way to migratory birds.

Located between the Cap 3000 shopping center and the airport of Nice Côte d’Azur at the mouth of the Var, this bird reserve is a perfect place for migratory birds considered as the “Mini Camargue of Saint-Laurent-du-Var”.

Here, you will see little ringed plovers, sandpipers, common snipes, grey herons, little egrets, greater flamigos… 264 bird species have been observed which is almost half of those present in Europe.

Wood panels installed on the 'Green Walk' help you along the way to know the name of these birds and their main characteristics.

A natural aquarium

By the sea on the beach of Flots Bleus on limite with the Esplanade Les Goélands, a marine protected area has a total ban on fishing (order of the Mayor December 22, 2008). Indeed, a marine world where man and animals live in harmony has been recreated in an artificial cove in front of the promenade of Flots Bleus. The animals are almost tame.

The Forest of Pugets

Equipped with sports facilities at various sites, the Pugets forest is a haven of peace and greenery, accessible on foot or by bus from the seaside and the town centre. There are various routes to follow at the entrance, and some of the paths have information panels explaining the flora and fauna present.

The Esplanade des Goélands and The Promenade des Flots Bleus connects the Cap 3000 shopping center at the harbour along the sea. The city has focused on the well-being by offering its visitors and residents long pedestrian walks and totally protected on the seafront.
